We exist so no family faces loss alone.
Yusr was built on a simple belief: the Muslim community in Ontario should never have to scramble for funds in the most difficult moments of their lives.
Our Story
Built from within the community, for the community.
Yusr — meaning ease in Arabic — was born from a conversation about a gap that too many families had already fallen into. When a loved one passes away, a family should be focused entirely on grief, prayer, and gathering. Not on fundraising campaigns, not on arguing with banks, not on calling in favours.
In the Muslim tradition, taking care of the dead — and the families left behind — is a collective responsibility. Janazah is not a personal burden. It is a communal duty. Yusr is the infrastructure that makes that duty reliable, fair, and simple.
We are not an insurance company. We hold no premiums, deny no claims, and pay no shareholders. When a member passes away, Yusr facilitates a small, capped contribution from every enrolled family — then pays the funeral home directly. That's it.
Our goal is to grow this community until the coverage is as certain as the community itself. Every new member makes the pool stronger, the contributions smaller, and the protection more meaningful for everyone.
