Yusr was built on a simple belief: the Muslim community in Ontario should never have to scramble for funds in the most difficult moments of their lives.
Our Story
Built from within the community, for the community.
Yusr, meaning ease in Arabic, was born from a conversation about a gap that too many families had already fallen into. When a loved one passes, a family should be focused entirely on grief and prayer. Not fundraising. Not bank calls.
In Islam, caring for the deceased and those left behind is a collective duty. Janazah is not a personal burden. Yusr is the infrastructure that makes that duty reliable, fair, and simple.
We are not an insurance company. We hold no premiums, deny no claims, and pay no shareholders. When a member passes, Yusr facilitates a small, capped contribution from every enrolled family and pays the funeral home directly.
Up to $12,000 CAD paid directly to the funeral home. Yusr's 14% service fee is distributed transparently across the community.
